The short version

Every tool on DevToolsCave that says it "runs in your browser" does exactly that: the text, tokens, or numbers you enter are processed locally by JavaScript on your device and are never transmitted to https://devtoolscave.com or any other server. We can't see, log, or store that data, because it never reaches us.

What your browser stores on your device

A few settings are saved in your browser's own local storage so the site behaves the way you left it. Today that is your light/dark theme choice, the list of cities you have added to the world clock, and — only if you turn on "Remember my last pattern on this device" in the regex tester — your last flavor, flags and pattern there (never the test data you ran it against). This is not a cookie: local storage is never attached to a request, so these values are never sent to us or to anyone else, and they identify nothing about you. Clearing your browser's site data removes them, the world clock has a "Forget them" link that deletes its own entry directly, and unchecking the regex tester's toggle deletes its entry the same way.

What we do collect

Like virtually any website, our hosting provider automatically records standard web server logs for every request (e.g. IP address, browser user agent, requested URL, timestamp) for security and reliability purposes. This site does not currently use analytics, advertising, or tracking cookies.

If that changes

If DevToolsCave adds analytics (to understand aggregate traffic) or advertising in the future, this policy will be updated first to name the specific services used, what they collect, and how to opt out where applicable.

Pages on this site may link to third-party sites (for example, documentation or a donation page). We aren't responsible for the privacy practices of sites we don't operate.
